Sony Pictures and MGM have released a new The Magnificent Seven trailer. The latest retelling of the Seven Samurai-influenced tale is directed Antoine Fuqua‘s (Training Day, Southpaw) and written by True Detective writer/showrunner Nic Pizzolatto and Richard Wenk (The Equalizer). The film revolves around seven outlaws led by Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt, who band together to protect a small town from a violent industrialist. The rest of the cast is rounded out with a diverse group of individuals that ranges from Byung-Hun Lee to Manuel Garcia-Rulfo to Vincent D’Onofrio.

With the town of Rose Creek under the deadly control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue (Peter Sarsgaard), the desperate townspeople employ protection from seven outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns – Sam Chisolm (Denzel Washington), Josh Farraday (Chris Pratt), Goodnight Robicheaux (Ethan Hawke), Jack Horne (Vincent D’Onofrio), Billy Rocks (Byung-Hun Lee), Vasquez (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), and Red Harvest (Martin Sensmeier). As they prepare the town for the violent showdown that they know is coming, these seven mercenaries find themselves fighting for more than money.
